Job Overview
Barclays is seeking an experienced UI Developer to join its Customer Due Diligence (CDD) technology team within Group Economic Crime. Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain user interface components using React.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern frontend technologies.
Build responsive, accessible, and user-friendly interfaces that support business requirements and deliver a consistent experience across browsers and devices.
Contribute to the development of Barclays’ new Customer Due Diligence platform while maintaining existing applications during the migration of functionality.
Collaborate with global feature squads, product managers, designers, backend developers, and other stakeholders to define requirements and implement suitable solutions.
Integrate frontend applications with backend services through RESTful APIs.
Develop reusable components and apply appropriate frontend design patterns to improve maintainability and consistency.
Work with React Hooks, component lifecycle methods, and state management approaches such as Redux or the Context API.
Participate in code reviews and promote coding standards, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
Write unit tests and follow secure coding practices to improve software reliability and reduce vulnerabilities.
Identify and address frontend performance issues, ensuring applications remain responsive and efficient at scale.
Use Git and Agile development methodologies to manage source code and contribute to iterative delivery.
Support build, deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting activities in collaboration with DevOps and platform teams.
Contribute to technical discussions, assess alternative implementation approaches, and help ensure solutions meet business and technology objectives.
Required Skills And Experience
React.js and Frontend Development
Candidates should have strong commercial experience developing user interfaces with React.js. Proficiency in JavaScript ES6+, TypeScript, and HTML5 is essential. You should understand React Hooks, component lifecycle, state management, and responsive interface development.
Experience building modular, reusable frontend components will be important when developing features across a large platform. You should also be comfortable maintaining existing code while contributing to new application development.
API Integration and Frontend Architecture
