Shashi Prabhu & Associates (SPA), a leading multidisciplinary architecture, engineering and project management consultancy, is looking for an accomplished Senior Architect – Healthcare & Hospital Design to join our team in Mumbai.
We are seeking a design-driven professional with extensive experience in healthcare architecture who can take a leading role in conceptualising, developing and delivering complex hospital and healthcare projects. The ideal candidate will combine strong design sensibilities with a thorough understanding of hospital planning, healthcare workflows, technical coordination and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Design Leadership: Lead the architectural design of hospitals, multispecialty healthcare facilities and other institutional healthcare projects from concept development through detailed design and execution.
Hospital Planning: Develop efficient and functional hospital layouts, incorporating clinical adjacencies, patient and staff circulation, emergency services, diagnostic facilities, critical care, operation theatres and other specialised departments.
Design Development: Translate project briefs and client requirements into innovative, technically sound and commercially viable architectural solutions.
Multidisciplinary Coordination: Work closely with structural, MEP, healthcare planning and other specialist consultants to ensure seamless integration of all building systems.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure designs comply with applicable building regulations, fire and life safety requirements, healthcare standards and relevant statutory provisions.
Client Engagement: Participate in client meetings, design presentations and project reviews, articulating design intent and providing professional guidance.
Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior architects and design teams, maintaining high standards of design quality, technical accuracy and timely delivery.
Project Delivery: Coordinate with project management and site teams to ensure design intent is maintained throughout construction and implementation.
Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from a recognised institution; a postgraduate qualification in healthcare planning or hospital design will be an advantage.
Minimum 12 years of professional experience, with substantial experience in hospital architecture and healthcare facility planning.
Demonstrated involvement in the design and delivery of multispecialty hospitals, tertiary care facilities or other complex healthcare projects.
Strong understanding of hospital functional planning, clinical workflows, departmental adjacencies and healthcare-specific design considerations.
Proficiency in architectural design development, space planning, detailing and preparation of technical drawings.
Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary consultants and managing architectural design teams.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit/BIM workflows will be preferred, along with strong presentation and visualisation skills.
Excellent communication, coordination and problem-solving abilities.
A strong design portfolio demonstrating completed or ongoing healthcare projects is essential.
