Staff Software Engineer

Responsibilities:

Requirements:
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field.
10+ years of experience in professional software development with detailed inside-out knowledge of general programming languages, e. g., Java, Go, C/C++, and Python.
5+ years of experience in the design and solution of distributed systems operating at Uber's scale (~5k qps and 100m transactions per day).
Professional software experience in optimal setup and usage of data stores like Cassandra, DynamoDB, Redis, and MQs like Kafka.
Passion for driving continuous improvement initiatives on engineering standard methodologies like coding, testing, and monitoring.
Solid technical leadership abilities and comfortable working with various stakeholders to ensure adoption/impact.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write detailed technical documents.
Passionate about helping teams grow by inspiring and mentoring engineers.
Master's or PhD degree in computer science or a related field.
Experience working in the fintech and payments industry, including exposure to projects requiring complex regulations and compliance.
Experience working with the big data technologies of Hadoop, Hive, Spark, etc.
Expert and hands-on understanding of fault-tolerant systems and multi-datacenter/cloud architectures.
