QA Engineer I / II

We at Khatabook are looking for a passionate QA Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our mobile and API products. You'll be an integral part of the product lifecycle from understanding features and writing test cases to identifying bugs and ensuring smooth releases.
Responsibilities:
Design and execute test cases for mobile applications (Android/iOS) and APIs.
Perform functional, UI, regression, and negative testing for end-to-end product flows (e. g., OTP login, payments, search).
Identify, document, and track bugs using tools like JIRA or Linear.
Validate API responses, headers, and error codes using Postman or similar tools.
Test app behavior under different network conditions (throttling, offline).
Analyze crash logs, performance issues, and app compatibility across devices and OS versions.
Collaborate with developers to debug production issues and suggest improvements.
Contribute to test case documentation and regression suites.
Support basic automation tasks (if applicable) and learn automation frameworks over time.
Requirements:
Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and SDLC/STLC.
Experience testing mobile apps on Android/iOS platforms.
Hands-on experience with tools like Postman, Charles Proxy, ADB, and Android Studio.
Familiarity with API concepts, HTTP methods, and JSON response validation.
Basic understanding of test automation concepts (e. g., Appium, Selenium, Rest-Assured).
Excellent analytical, debugging, and communication skills.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
Nice to Have:
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, mock servers, or API automation.
Understanding of performance testing and app instrumentation.
Ability to write simple code in Java/Python for small automation tasks.
