Engineering Manager

About the Company
The company has partnered with Flexiple to find an Engineering Manager who can hire the founding India engineering pod and set its working culture from scratch. Flexiple is a managed marketplace that helps global companies build high-performing teams and GCCs in India.
Role Overview
As Engineering Manager, you will hire the first engineers on the India team and own delivery for the pod as it takes on more of the product roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
Hire, coach, and manage the growth of a team of 6 to 10 engineers
Run performance reviews, career conversations, and calibration for direct reports
Build a team culture that balances delivery speed with code quality
Delivery & Planning
Own sprint planning and roadmap execution jointly with product management
Remove blockers — technical, cross-team, or resourcing — before they slow delivery
Report progress, risks, and hiring needs to engineering leadership
Ideal Candidate Profile
7 to 12 years in software engineering, including 2+ years directly managing engineers
A track record of shipping production software before moving into management
Comfortable balancing hands-on technical judgment with people management
Clear written and spoken English and a reliable remote-work setup
Preferred Qualifications
Experience scaling a team through a headcount doubling or a major re-org
Exposure to a modern engineering stack relevant to the company's domain
