Software Development Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer - Backend with strong expertise in Java or Golang to join our technology team in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building scalable backend systems, working with cloud platforms, and developing technology solutions in an AI/GenAI environment.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable backend applications using Java or Golang.
Build and manage RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
Work closely with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and AI teams to develop AI-driven products and features.
Design and implement solutions that integrate AI/ML/GenAI capabilities into backend systems.
Develop cloud-native applications and deploy services using AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Optimise application performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
Participate in system design, architecture discussions, and technical decision-making.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
Troubleshoot complex production issues and implement long-term solutions.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the complete software development lifecycle.
Requirements:
7-9 years of software development experience with strong backend development expertise.
Strong proficiency in Java OR Golang.
Hands-on experience with Spring Boot (for Java candidates) or Go-based backend frameworks.
Strong understanding of Microservices and Distributed Systems.
Experience developing and integrating REST APIs.
Strong knowledge of Data Structures and Algorithms.
Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Design / Design Patterns.
Experience with at least one cloud platform: AWS / Azure / GCP.
Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar.
Good understanding of System Design and scalable architecture.
