As a Java technical architect, you will lead the design, development, and governance of enterprise-grade Java-based solutions within an agile, cloud-native environment. You will serve as the technical authority for your domain, bridging business requirements and engineering execution while mentoring development teams and ensuring architectural integrity across the full software lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
Define, evolve, and own the software architecture for Java-based applications, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
Lead and conduct architectural design reviews, code reviews, and enforcement of best practices, including TDD and CI/CD.
Collaborate with Product Owners and cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Drive microservices architecture design and event-driven solutions using Kafka.
Take ownership of features from development through to production deployment.
Manage and operate AWS-hosted application clusters, including monitoring, upgrading, and maintaining infrastructure.
Define blueprints for cloud environments and align with enterprise architecture standards.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to development teams; help shape an engineering culture of excellence.
Document and communicate architecture decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements:
Java and Frameworks: Deep expertise in Java, Spring, and Spring Boot; proficiency with Maven, JUnit, and REST APIs.
Databases: Hands-on experience with relational (PostgreSQL) and document-based (MongoDB) databases.
Messaging and Streaming: Strong working knowledge of Kafka and/or IBM MQ.
Cloud and DevOps: Practical experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins), and SonarQube.
Architecture Patterns: Deep understanding of microservices architecture and established design patterns.
Experience: Minimum 7-10 years in Java development with demonstrated experience in a technical architect or senior lead role.
Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
