Credit views on this bank's covered issuers currently rely on periodic reviews that go stale between rating cycles, and a global bank standing up its India technology and operations centre has partnered with Flexiple to hire a Credit Research Analyst who will keep those views current on its India credit research desk.
The desk you'd support
This desk covers a portfolio of corporate and financial issuers, tracking their credit profile, capital structure and covenant headroom, and feeding that analysis into the rating views and internal credit opinions used across lending, trading and risk functions. The work sits close to real decisions: a stale credit view here can show up as a mispriced position or a missed covenant breach somewhere else in the bank.
How a rating call gets made
Building and maintaining financial models for covered issuers, including leverage, coverage and liquidity metrics
Tracking covenant compliance, rating actions and credit events across the assigned portfolio
Drafting credit notes and issuer updates that summarise financial performance against thesis and triggers
Supporting senior analysts on new issuer onboarding, including first-pass credit write-ups
Monitoring macro, sector and regulatory developments that could move an issuer's credit profile
What we're looking for in a first read
2 to 6 years of experience in credit research, corporate ratings, fixed income research or related credit analysis, with strong financial modelling skills and comfort reading financial statements, indentures and credit agreements. You should be able to write a credit note that a senior analyst can sign off on with minimal rework, and be precise about assumptions in a leverage or coverage model.
Where the seat sits
The role is based out of Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad or Pune, or Remote (India), working alongside a global credit research function with regular touchpoints across time zones.
