About the Role
The Account Monitoring Analyst within the Central EDD (Enhanced Due Diligence) team plays a critical role in identifying and mitigating financial crime risks. This role focuses on early detection of suspicious or mule accounts by monitoring and investigating financial transactions. The analyst contributes to fraud prevention and risk management by analyzing account behavior and collaborating with internal teams to ensure thorough due diligence.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
Monitor and review accounts flagged by automated systems for unusual or suspicious activity.
Conduct deep-dive analysis of flagged accounts, including transaction details, account history, and customer information.
Assess transaction patterns to identify deviations from typical customer behavior.
Prepare detailed narratives and summaries to support decision-making processes.
Identify trends, anomalies, and root causes of suspicious activities.
Detect patterns and typologies indicative of financial crimes.
Secondary Responsibilities
Contact customers to gain clarity on transactions before making decisions on account actions.
Maintain clear communication with branch teams to facilitate enhanced due diligence, site verification, and collection of additional information.
Participate in cross-departmental discussions to stay informed about emerging risks and trends.
Provide feedback on transaction monitoring tools and thresholds to improve detection accuracy.
What We Are Looking For
Education
Graduation: B.Sc., B.Tech, BCA, B.Com, or BBA
Post-graduation: MBA or PGDM
Experience
2 to 3 years of relevant experience in financial crime investigation, transaction monitoring, or related fields.
Skills and Attributes
Strong analytical and investigative skills.
Ability to interpret complex transaction data and customer behavior.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in identifying financial crime patterns and typologies.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across departments.
Attention to detail and a proactive approach to risk detection.
