Role Description Cafe Managers and Baristas at Paper & Pie Cafe are responsible for delivering a welcoming, efficient, and consistent guest experience throughout the day. In this full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru, team members prepare and serve coffee, beverages, and food items according to cafe standards, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and ensure adherence to food safety and hygiene protocols. Cafe Managers will oversee daily operations, supervise staff, manage scheduling, handle inventory, and support training and performance feedback. Baristas will focus on beverage preparation, customer interaction at the counter and tables, order-taking, and payment processing, while actively contributing to the warm, creative atmosphere of the cafe. Both roles collaborate to uphold service quality, support special events or recordings in the podcast studio, and help maintain the unique culture that defines Paper & Pie.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to engage guests in a friendly, professional manner.
Candidates should possess skills in coffee brewing, espresso-based drink preparation, and basic food handling, with attention to quality and presentation.
Candidates should possess skills in team coordination, shift management, and basic inventory control; prior experience in cafe or restaurant supervision is beneficial for manager roles.
Candidates should possess skills in cash handling, POS operation, and simple record-keeping to support smooth daily transactions.
Candidates should possess the ability to work on their feet for extended periods, follow food safety and hygiene standards, and maintain a clean, organized environment.
Previous experience in a café, QSR, or hospitality setting is preferred; formal training in hospitality or culinary arts is an advantage.
Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, and a genuine interest in coffee, food, and creating a community-focused space.
