Quality Engineer

We are seeking a Quality Engineer with strong experience in automation and testing to build and scale Ambient Security's AI security and governance platform. You will work across the stack to develop intuitive user interfaces and robust backend services that power real-time visibility, policy enforcement, and access control for enterprise AI systems. You will collaborate closely with product, platform, and security engineers to deliver features that translate complex AI and security concepts into clear, actionable user experiences.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for web applications, APIs, and backend services.
Create and execute functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end test scenarios.
Collaborate with software engineers during feature development to identify quality risks early.
Validate platform functionality across AI workflows, policy enforcement systems, access controls, and enterprise integrations.
Develop test plans, test cases, and quality metrics for new product releases.
Participate in CI/CD pipelines and help automate quality checks across the development lifecycle.
Investigate, reproduce, and document defects with clear root-cause analysis.
Contribute to improving test frameworks, tooling, and engineering best practices.
Work closely with product and engineering teams to ensure a seamless user experience and high platform reliability.
Requirements:
2-5 years of experience in quality engineering, software testing, or test automation.
Strong understanding of software testing fundamentals and SDLC/STLC concepts.
Experience writing automated tests using frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Pytest, TestNG, or similar.
Basic programming skills in at least one language such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
Experience testing REST APIs using tools such as Postman, Insomnia, or automation frameworks.
Familiarity with Git and modern software development workflows.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Experience working in the security domain (identity, access control, governance, monitoring, or compliance)
Experience working in a high-growth startup environment.
Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
Understanding of container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Exposure to security testing, performance testing, or observability tools.
Interest in AI/ML systems, LLMs, or AI-powered applications.
