IT Development Asset Analyst

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical IT Development Asset Analyst to manage, govern, and optimize IT development assets across the software development lifecycle. The role involves maintaining application inventories, software assets, development tools, licenses, repositories, and technology assets while ensuring compliance, governance, cost optimization, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate should have experience working with development teams, IT asset management (ITAM), software lifecycle management, CMDB, licensing, and IT governance processes within enterprise environments.
The core responsibilities for the job include the following:
IT Asset Management:
Maintain and manage the inventory of IT development assets, including applications, development tools, software licenses, repositories, and cloud resources.
Track asset lifecycle from procurement, deployment, utilization, renewal, and retirement.
Ensure asset records are accurate and updated in CMDB and asset management systems.
Monitor software license compliance and usage.
Development Asset Governance:
Maintain application and technology asset inventories across development environments.
Ensure adherence to IT governance, security, and compliance standards.
Support software audits and regulatory compliance requirements.
Establish and enforce asset management policies and best practices.
Reporting & Analytics:
Generate reports on software utilization, licensing, asset health, and cost optimization.
Analyze asset usage trends and provide recommendations for optimization.
Create dashboards and metrics for management reporting.
Stakeholder Management:
Collaborate with Development, Infrastructure, Security, Procurement, and Vendor Management teams.
Coordinate software renewals, vendor contracts, and license management activities.
Support internal and external audits related to IT assets.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to improve asset tracking and governance processes.
Automate asset management workflows where possible.
Support implementation and enhancement of IT Asset Management tools and platforms.
Requirements:
Strong understanding of IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM).
Experience with CMDB platforms such as ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, or similar tools.
Knowledge of software licensing models and compliance management.
Experience with application inventory and software lifecycle management.
Understanding of SDLC and DevOps environments.
Strong reporting and data analysis skills using Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
ITIL Foundation, ITAM, SAM, or ServiceNow certifications are preferred.
