About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
Cittabase helps organizations modernize their data platforms and unlock value from enterprise data through cloud-native architecture, analytics engineering, and applied AI. We're growing our Snowflake practice and looking for a Solution Architect who can design and deliver production-grade data platforms while also pushing our clients toward Snowflake's newest AI and agentic capabilities.
Role
We're looking for a Senior Snowflake Solution Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of Snowflake-based data platforms for our clients. This role combines classic data architecture and analytics engineering (dbt-driven transformation pipelines) with hands-on expertise in Snowflake's AI stack — Cortex (Analyst, Search, Agents) and Snowflake CoWork — to help clients move from raw data to governed, conversational, and agentic analytics experiences.
You'll work directly with client stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable architectures, mentor engineering teams, and act as the technical authority on all things Snowflake across pre-sales, delivery, and post-implementation support.
What You'll Do
Architect end-to-end Snowflake data platforms, including ingestion, storage, transformation, security, and consumption layers, aligned to client business requirements and cost/performance goals.
Design and govern dbt-based transformation pipelines (models, tests, macros, documentation, CI/CD) that serve as the semantic and quality backbone of the platform.
Build and configure semantic views, Cortex Analyst setups, and Cortex Search services to power natural-language querying over structured and unstructured enterprise data.
Design and deploy Cortex Agents and Snowflake CoWork implementations, including agent instructions, tool/MCP integrations (e.g., Slack, Jira, Salesforce, email), automations, and reusable Skills for client knowledge workers.
Define and enforce data governance, including role-based access control, row-access policies, column-level masking, and cost/budget controls across warehouses and AI workloads.
Own Snowflake account and warehouse architecture decisions: sizing, cost optimization, workload isolation, data sharing, and multi-cloud/region considerations.
Partner with client and internal engineering teams to review code, unblock delivery issues, and ensure architecture best practices are followed throughout implementation.
Support pre-sales activities: solution scoping, technical proposals, architecture diagrams, and client-facing demos of Snowflake Cortex and CoWork capabilities.
Stay current with Snowflake's evolving AI/agentic feature set and proactively recommend adoption paths to clients.
Mentor mid-level and junior data engineers on Snowflake, dbt, and AI-native data patterns.
Qualifications
7+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or solution architecture roles, with at least 3+ years working hands-on with Snowflake in a production environment.
Proven experience designing and maintaining dbt projects at scale (models, tests, snapshots, macros, packages, CI/CD integration).
Hands-on experience with Snowflake Cortex, including Cortex Analyst, Cortex Search, and building or configuring Cortex Agents.
Direct experience implementing or administering Snowflake CoWork (or Snowflake Intelligence), including semantic views, agent instructions, automations, and Skills.
Strong SQL skills and deep understanding of dimensional modeling, ELT/ETL patterns, and data warehouse performance tuning.
Experience with Snowflake governance features: RBAC, row-access policies, dynamic data masking, and resource monitors/budget controls.
Familiarity with integrating third-party tools via MCP (Model Context Protocol) or similar agent-tool integration patterns.
Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) as they relate to Snowflake deployments.
Excellent client-facing communication skills; ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines for data workflows.
Must be SnowPro Core and/or SnowPro Advanced Architect Cerfified.
Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow, dbt Cloud, or Dagster.
Experience with BI tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI, Sigma) integrated with Snowflake semantic layers.
Exposure to Python for custom Cortex tools, stored procedures, or data quality automation.
