Role Description The Manager of Procurement is a full-time, on-site role based at Vellamal Medical College in Chinthamani Madurai. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities, including sourcing medical supplies, equipment, and services in line with institutional requirements and budget guidelines. Daily tasks include evaluating and selecting suppliers, negotiating contracts and pricing, overseeing purchase orders, and monitoring vendor performance and compliance. The Manager of Procurement will collaborate closely with clinical, administrative, and finance teams to forecast demand, maintain optimal inventory levels, and ensure timely delivery of goods and services. The role also involves maintaining accurate records, optimizing procurement processes, and supporting cost-saving initiatives while upholding quality and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Procurement skills, including experience managing purchasing cycles and sourcing medical or institutional supplies.
Candidates should possess Supplier Evaluation and Analytical Skills to assess vendor capabilities, compare bids, and support data-driven decisions.
Candidates should possess Contract Negotiation and Contract Management skills to secure favorable terms and ensure compliance with agreements.
Candidates should possess solid communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills to work effectively with clinical, administrative, and finance teams.
Candidates should possess organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and maintain accurate documentation.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; relevant professional certifications in procurement or supply chain are an advantage.
Prior experience in procurement within healthcare, education, or large institutional settings is highly beneficial.
