About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
Collated Ventures is building a portfolio of premium retail and mixed-use destinations, positioned around design-led experience, curated retail and F&B mix, and a distinct sense of place. This role owns marketing and communications for the district portfolio end-to-end, from brand positioning and go-to-market strategy through to launch campaigns, PR, and on-ground activations. The ideal candidate has built brands in commercial or high-street retail districts, understands the language of fashion and design, and is equally comfortable setting strategy and executing a launch on the ground. This is a portfolio-defining role that will shape how Collated’s retail projects are seen and experienced by tenants, brand partners, and consumers alike.
Key Responsibilities:
Brand Positioning & Marketing Strategy
Define and own brand positioning for each retail project, ensuring a distinct identity that reflects its location, target catchment, and tenant mix.
Develop annual and project-level marketing strategies aligned to leasing timelines, footfall objectives, and tenant/brand partner expectations.
Build and maintain brand guidelines for each retail asset, and ensure consistent application across all touchpoints: signage, collateral, digital, and tenant communication.
Track retail, fashion, and lifestyle trends to keep positioning and campaigns current and competitive within the commercial district landscape.
Launches & Activations
Plan and execute go-to-market and launch campaigns for new retail and commercial projects within the district and phases, from pre-launch anticipation-building through to opening.
Conceptualise and deliver experiential marketing, activations, pop-ups, and seasonal events that drive footfall and tenant visibility.
Coordinate closely with Leasing and Design teams to align activation calendars with tenant fitouts, occupancy milestones, and precinct programming.
Manage vendor and agency partners for event production, styling, and on-ground execution, within approved budgets and timelines.
PR & Communications
Build and manage relationships with fashion, design, and lifestyle press to secure coverage for launches, tenant announcements, and project milestones.
Plan and execute PR campaigns around key project moments, positioning retail projects within the design and retail conversation.
Represent the brand voice across owned channels, digital, social, and print, ensuring tone and messaging stay consistent with brand guidelines.
Tenant, Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Coordination
Partner with tenant and brand partners on co-marketing opportunities, joint campaigns, and launch support for their stores.
Coordinate with the corporate marketing function to ensure retail campaigns are aligned with our brand.
Prepare periodic marketing MIS and campaign performance reports for leadership and partner review.
Manage marketing budgets for the retail portfolio, including approvals, vendor payments, and spend tracking.
Work closely with the Leasing team to align marketing campaigns and launch timelines with occupancy and tenant onboarding schedules.
Coordinate with Facility Management on activation logistics, common-area usage, signage placement, and upkeep of branded spaces.
Team Management
Build, lead, and develop the team, setting clear goals and reviewing performance against them.
Mentor team members on brand, campaign, and event execution, and manage day-to-day workload and priorities across the portfolio.
Candidate Profile
Minimum 5 years of experience in marketing and communications, with meaningful exposure to retail projects in a commercial district, high street, or retail environment.
Demonstrated experience across brand positioning, PR campaigns, events, experiential marketing, and retail launches.
Background or strong working exposure to fashion, design, or lifestyle brands, with an eye for aesthetic and experiential detail.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in marketing; an additional qualification in Fashion, Design, or a related field is preferred.
Comfortable moving between strategic planning and hands-on execution, able to write a brand strategy note and stand on-site directing a launch activation.
Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience coordinating across tenants, agencies, media, and internal teams.
