About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Consultant to take ownership of the Finance workstream within a live, complex, multi-entity and multi-currency D365 F&O environment. This is not a routine configuration or support role. You will work directly with senior client stakeholders, lead the functional design, and help solve complex Finance challenges involving COGS, posting profiles, inventory-to-finance posting, reconciliation, integrations and financial processes across multiple legal entities.
Responsibilities
Current assignments include:
Continuous improvement of the live D365 F&O Finance estate: configuration gaps, posting and reconciliation issues, change requests and period-end support.
D365 Finance integrations involving customer promotions, rebates, supplier contributions and financial reconciliation.
Setting up new trading legal entities, including master data, procure-to-pay, taxation, stock reporting, user training, and go-live.
AX-to-D365 F&O migrations involving Finance configuration, data migration, UAT and defect resolution.
What you'll own:
Lead Finance functional design end-to-end.
Diagnose and resolve complex Finance configuration issues in live D365 environments.
Lead workshops with client Finance stakeholders, including senior Finance leaders and CFO-level stakeholders.
Translate business requirements and decisions into clear, signed-off functional designs.
Define Finance requirements for integrations and customizations and work closely with technical and development teams.
Review delivered solutions and confirm that functional requirements have been correctly implemented.
Plan and coordinate the Finance workstream, including priorities, consultants, dependencies and deliverables.
Report regularly on progress, risks, issues and decisions.
Qualifications
8+ years of Microsoft Dynamics AX / Dynamics 365 Finance functional consulting experience.
Strong current experience with Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
At least 3 full-cycle Dynamics implementations, including experience leading a Finance workstream.

b. Strong understanding of the inventory-to-Finance posting chain, including item model groups, item groups and posting profiles.
c. Experience owning integration requirements from the Finance functional side.
d. Experience working directly with senior client stakeholders and driving decisions.
e. Fluent professional English.
f. Confidence to challenge client assumptions constructively when required.
g. Irish or UK VAT experience is highly valued.
Preferred Skills
Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Consultant Associate (MB-310) is preferred.
Relevant legacy Microsoft Dynamics AX / D365 Finance certifications and equivalent demonstrable experience are also valued.
Working Arrangement
This is a fully remote opportunity for consultants residing in Colombia, Mexico, India, Pakistan, the Philippines, Poland, and Romania.
Candidates must be able to maintain at least 5 hours of daily overlap with Irish business hours: 09:00–17:30 Ireland time.
The remainder of the working schedule can be organized around agreed project and delivery requirements.
The engagement may be structured as employment or as a long-term contractual arrangement depending on the candidate’s country of residence.

We are particularly interested in candidates who can explain not only what they configured, but why the issue occurred, how they diagnosed it and how they validated the solution.
