# Finance Strategy Manager

## About the Role
We are looking for a **Finance Strategy Manager** to own financial planning, business analysis, financial modelling, and core finance operations. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working across both **FP&A and Finance Controllership**, with the ability to translate business metrics into financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
This is a hands-on role suited for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable building financial models, reports, processes, and controls from the ground up.
## Key Responsibilities
### Financial Planning & Business Finance
* Own budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and periodic reforecasting.
* Build and maintain **driver-based financial models** covering revenue, costs, margins, cash flow, and profitability.
* Prepare P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow projections.
* Track actual performance against budgets and forecasts and analyse key variances.
* Develop business and unit economics analysis including revenue, pricing, AOV, contribution margins, CAC, operating costs, and profitability.
* Prepare weekly/monthly MIS, dashboards, and management reports.
* Build cash-flow, burn-rate, and runway models.
* Support business decisions related to pricing, hiring, marketing spends, expansion, cost optimisation, and investments.
* Support management reporting, fundraising, due diligence, and investor/board requirements.
### Finance Operations & Controllership
* Coordinate monthly accounting closure and ensure books are accurate and up to date.
* Review P&L, Balance Sheet, ledgers, accruals, provisions, revenue, expenses, and vendor/customer balances.
* Manage bank, payment gateway, vendor, customer, payroll, and other financial reconciliations.
* Coordinate **GST, TDS, PF, ESI, professional tax**, and other statutory compliances.
* Manage finance operations including invoices, approvals, payments, reimbursements, payroll inputs, and receivables.
* Establish finance controls, approval processes, documentation standards, and maker-checker mechanisms.
* Maintain accurate and audit-ready financial records.
* Identify gaps in accounting, data, reconciliations, and financial processes and drive improvements.
## Requirements
* **1–4 years of experience** in FP&A, Business Finance, Corporate Finance, Controllership, or a similar finance role.
* Strong understanding of **P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, accounting fundamentals, and financial analysis**.
* Strong hands-on skills in **Excel/Google Sheets and financial modelling**.
* Ability to build structured, driver-based financial models.
* Understanding of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and MIS reporting.
* Knowledge of GST, TDS, payroll-related compliances, and month-end closure.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work with large volumes of business/financial data.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
* High ownership, attention to detail, and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
## Good to Have
* Experience in a **startup, marketplace, consumer internet, e-commerce, or high-volume transaction business**.
* Exposure to unit economics, cash runway, fundraising, or investor reporting.
* Experience in building finance processes from scratch.
* CA/CA Inter/CMA/MBA Finance or relevant finance qualification.
