Job Description – Junior Backend Engineer
Salary - ₹22,000 INR
We are looking for a Junior Backend Engineer to join our small development team. We build and maintain our own accounting and FinTech products, giving you the opportunity to work on real products, build from the ground up, and grow with the team.
Experience
· 6 months–1 year of backend development experience
· Relevant internship or strong hands-on project experience will also be considered
· This is a junior-level role — we are not looking for senior/lead profiles
Technical Requirements
· Working knowledge of Node.js (Express) and/or Python (FastAPI)
· Good understanding of backend fundamentals, including:
· REST APIs, API design and API contracts
· Request/response handling, validation and error handling
· Databases, SQL, CRUD and basic database design
· Database connections and connection management
· Authentication and authorization basics
· Caching and basic performance/scalability concepts
· Debugging and troubleshooting
· Git and third-party API integrations
AI-Assisted Development
· Comfortable using AI tools to improve coding, debugging and problem-solving
· Must be able to understand, review, test and validate AI-generated code
· Should maintain clean, readable and maintainable code and follow good engineering practices
· Must understand existing functionality before making changes and ensure that existing features,
APIs, business logic, database behaviour and integrations are not unintentionally broken
What You’ll Work On
· Build, improve, maintain and troubleshoot backend services and APIs
· Work with databases, integrations, caching and real production systems
· Build features for accounting and FinTech products
· Work closely with a small team and gradually take on more responsibility
