Position Overview
Grade Crew Foreman with commercial background experience to lead up our Grade Crew. Demonstrating commitment to “Safety First Always” philosophy.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
Plan work daily for next day
Calculate number of trucks required to haul material
Work with Project Managers and Logistics to set up material deliveries.
Setup and manage trucking for work activities daily.
Supervise and coordinate activities of workers
Work activities include but are not limited to (mill cleanup, aggregate base, earthwork, misc. HMA repairs and patching, removals, minor drainage structure work, aggregate shoulder operations, grading operations).
Manage multiple operations at different locations simultaneously.
Tour work site to ensure progress and to detect insufficient utilization of workers and equipment
Establish and maintain a working relationship with the various managers you work with
Establish a customer expectation plan to complete the daily Agenda
Report any required equipment repairs as they become known
See that your assigned equipment is maintained correctly
Where required, complete daily reports
Complete accident reports immediately along with all documentation and report to appropriate personnel
Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays
Strong communication a must
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education/Experience
5+ years supervisory experience
Previous MDOT experience is a plus
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
Knowledge of 3D grading operations and equipment.
Ability to read and set grade stakes is a requirement.
Ability to read and understand plans.
Microsoft Office environment applications
Outlook knowledge
Knowledge of environmental, safety, health policies and regulations
Additional tasks and duties may be modified by management
Physical Requirements
This position requires time spent walking, standing, bending, lifting and sitting.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance.
Work Environment
This position will work in an office setting, outdoors on a job site and in a plant. Work environment will vary depending on job task.
