Plant Maintenance Laborer
Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Plant Maintenance Laborer to help maintain plant operations and equipment, ensuring maximum production and a safe work environment. This role is responsible for routine plant maintenance, housekeeping, equipment operation, and general labor duties while supporting teamwork across production and delivery departments.
Key Responsibilities
Perform daily plant maintenance and preventative maintenance activities.
Maintain plant cleanliness and complete routine housekeeping duties.
Identify and report maintenance issues to plant leadership.
Assist with general labor tasks and operate small power tools as needed.
Follow all company safety policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations.
Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Support coworkers and assist with additional duties as assigned.
Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
Qualifications
Required
High school diploma or GED.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Valid driver's license meeting state requirements.
Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check.
Preferred
Two years of related maintenance, construction, or industrial experience.
Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
Experience operating loaders, skid steers, or similar equipment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to operate front-end loaders and skid loaders.
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic math calculations.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and tools.
Ability to work independently and safely with minimal supervision.
Ability to perform physically demanding work in varying weather conditions.
Physical Requirements
Lift and carry up to 50-100 pounds occasionally.
Climb ladders and work at heights.
Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and crawl for extended periods.
Work in confined spaces and on uneven surfaces.
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Work Environment
Outdoor and industrial plant environment.
Exposure to moving machinery, dust, fumes, and varying weather conditions.
Occasional exposure to electrical hazards.
Overtime, weekends, and travel may be required.
