Role Description The Food Safety Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Delhi, India. The technician is responsible for monitoring and maintaining food safety and hygiene standards across production areas, ensuring compliance with internal protocols and relevant local and international regulations. Day-to-day tasks include conducting routine inspections, sampling and testing raw materials and finished products, verifying sanitation procedures, and documenting findings in line with established quality systems. The role involves supporting implementation of food safety management systems (such as HACCP), assisting with audits, addressing non-conformities, and collaborating with production and quality teams to prevent contamination and improve processes. The technician also helps train staff on food safety practices and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product safety and consumer trust.
Qualifications
Knowledge of food safety standards and systems (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSAI regulations) and the ability to apply these in a manufacturing environment.
Skills in inspection, sampling, and basic laboratory testing, including handling of food samples and accurate documentation of results.
Understanding of hygiene, sanitation procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) within food processing facilities.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and audit checklists, with strong attention to detail.
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with production, quality assurance, and warehouse teams on corrective and preventive actions.
Basic data entry and use of quality or production systems to record inspections, non-conformities, and corrective measures.
Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related field preferred.
Prior experience in a food manufacturing or processing environment is an advantage, especially in spices, seasonings, or packaged foods.
