Job Title: L3 Application Support Engineer (Technical Team Lead)

Job Summary:
The L3 Application Support Engineer/Technical Team Lead is responsible for advanced incident resolution, root cause analysis, and code-level fixes for production issues that exceed L2 support capabilities. This role is crucial in ensuring the long-term stability of applications through the implementation of patches, hotfixes, and configuration changes. The Technical Team Lead will also support post-incident reviews and defect tracking while mentoring L2 engineers.
Responsibilities:
Code-Level Incident Resolution: Investigate and resolve production issues requiring software fixes beyond L2 scope.
Root Cause Analysis: Diagnose complex application problems and identify underlying defects.
Bug Fixes & Patches: Develop, test, and implement code changes, hotfixes, and patches.
Change Identification: Determine whether resolution requires code, configuration, or logic modifications.
Post-Incident Support: Contribute to defect tracking, RCA documentation, and post-incident reviews.
Team Leadership: Mentor and guide L2 engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
Mandatory Skills:
React JS: Proficiency in React JS is a deal breaker for this role.
Full Stack Development: Strong expertise in Java, JavaScript, Angular, and NodeJS.
API Development & Integration: Experience with REST APIs, JSON, and Postman.
Microservices Architecture: Knowledge of API Gateway management (APIC, Kong, AWS API Gateway).
Database Expertise: Proficient in SQL Server and Oracle, including query optimization and troubleshooting.
Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with AWS and Azure, including CI/CD, monitoring, deployment, and troubleshooting.
Monitoring Tools: Experience with tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Grafana, and New Relic.
Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to diagnose multi-layer issues across application, middleware, and infrastructure.
Preferred Skills:
Claude AI: Experience leveraging AI tools for incident summarization and automation.
Automation & Scripting: Proficiency in Python, Playwright, Bash, and PowerShell for operational utilities.
DevOps Tools: Familiarity with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Azure DevOps.
Version Control: Experience with Git/GitHub for managing code fixes and patches.
ITSM Tools: Knowledge of ServiceNow and Jira Service Management for incident lifecycle and SLA compliance.
Operating Systems: Experience with Linux/Unix and Windows Server log analysis and service management.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication, stakeholder management, resilience under pressure, and mentoring capabilities.
Qualifications:
Relevant technical qualifications and certifications in software development, cloud technologies, or related fields are preferred. A strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development is essential.
