ABOUT VANTROCK
Vantrock is India's independent, operator-led real assets platform — real assets only — with logistics and industrial as the first phase of its growth.
Founded by Anshul Singhal, Founder & CEO, who has built three institutional platforms from zero and is building the fourth on his own capital: 52 million sq ft delivered (32 million as developer, 20 million as contractor), 2,000+ acres acquired, 200+ buildings, two SEBI Category II funds run to a successful close, India's first domestic warehousing AIF and India's largest industrial real estate exit — delivered across the founder's three prior platforms.
THE FINANCE & ACCOUNTS TEAM
Vantrock keeps its books in-house. The finance function owns every number from the site to the board.
Five parts under the Chief Financial Officer: Finance & Accounts (the books); FP&A and Asset Management (the forecast and the flag); Corporate Finance and Investor Relations (debt, treasury, lenders); Legal and Compliance; IT.
Twenty-one seats when fully built; sixteen live now, one of them already filled. Small enough that every person in it is known by name to the founder; large enough to run a platform properly. Every seat in the team is a builder's seat: the function does not exist yet in the form described here, and the people who join it now are the ones who will decide what it becomes.
MANY ENTITIES, ONE CALENDAR
A real assets platform is a set of entities — a development company, an investment manager, sponsor vehicles, and a project entity for every asset, a dozen now and more each year. Each has a board or a set of partners, statutory registers, a filing calendar under the Companies Act or the LLP Act, and an annual compliance cycle. Most platforms of this size hand that to a firm and receive it back late. Vantrock runs it in-house, under the Head — Legal & Compliance, so that no filing is late, no register is out of date, and the founder can be told the state of every entity's compliance on any given day.
WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS
The Head — Legal & Compliance is one lawyer commanding outside counsel and holding the compliance line. The secretarial machinery beneath — meetings, minutes, registers, filings, for a dozen entities — needs a qualified hand that knows the Act and can be trusted with the calendar. This seat is that hand — a qualified company secretary at the start of a career, on a platform that would rather grow its own senior company secretary than buy one later.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
1. Board and partner meetings. Notices, agendas, papers, minutes and resolutions for every entity — drafted to the Act, circulated on time, filed in the register.
2. Statutory registers. Every register every entity is required to keep — members, directors, charges, contracts, related parties — current, complete and inspectable.
3. Filings. ROC and LLP filings, annual returns, event-based filings — prepared from the calendar, checked by the Head, filed on time, acknowledgements retained.
4. The secretarial calendar. Every entity's obligations on one calendar with dates and owners; the Head told of anything at risk a month before it is due.
5. Entity formation and changes. New project entities incorporated, directors and partners appointed, registered offices and charges recorded — as the platform's pipeline demands.
6. The practicing company secretary. Certifications, secretarial audits and signatures that require a practicing CS briefed, scheduled and reviewed — commanded by this team, not deferred to.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
ESSENTIAL
– A qualified Company Secretary — an Associate Member of the ICSI — with 0–3 years of post-qualification experience, including the management training.
– The Companies Act and the LLP Act, and the rules and forms beneath them, in working use — you have drafted a notice, prepared a filing and maintained a register, even under supervision.
– Precise and organised: a calendar you have kept has never missed a date.
– Comfortable with the MCA portal, digital signatures and the secretarial software the platform chooses.
– Writes clearly. Minutes and resolutions are read by directors, lenders and auditors; yours must be right the first time.
– Based in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
ADVANTAGEOUS
– Training or early experience at a real estate developer, a group with multiple SPVs, or a SEBI-regulated entity.
– A law degree in progress or completed alongside the CS.
– Exposure to LLP compliance specifically.
WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT
– Not a senior compliance seat. The compliance line is the Head's; the fund's regulatory role is the Chief Compliance Officer's. This seat runs the secretarial machinery.
– Not a legal-drafting seat. Contracts are scoped by the Head and drafted by counsel.
– Not a seat that signs what a practicing company secretary must sign. That is retained externally by design.
HOW YOU WILL WORK
– Judgment in-house, execution owned. The calendar is yours; the decision about what to do when something slips is the Head's.
– Everything runs on the platform's dashboards. The secretarial calendar, the register index and the filing log live on the operating layer.
– Judgment is written down. Every filing has an acknowledgement; every meeting has minutes within the statutory period; every register change has a source document.
– Mumbai Metropolitan Region, full-time, in person.
COMPENSATION
Vantrock benchmarks compensation against the upper quartile for the role and market, weighted toward equity for candidates who want to build with us long-term. We discuss specific numbers in the first conversation rather than anchoring either side prematurely.
Wealth creation is part of the engine, not only the salary: a performance-linked annual bonus, and a path to ESOP-linked incentives as the seat grows — priced to the seat and confirmed in the offer.
CULTURAL FIT
We're building Vantrock over a decade, not a funding cycle. We're looking for people who treat technology as the default answer rather than a supplement, who want to be co-builders of the platform rather than employees executing instructions, and who are comfortable saying "I don't know" and "I was wrong." If you want a defined role with defined edges, this isn't the right seat. If you want to help build an institution from zero, it might be.
AI proficiency is a standing requirement in every Vantrock seat. You work fluently with AI tools for research, modelling, drafting and analysis, and you build on the platform's dashboards rather than around them. A supervised AI Proficiency Test is part of the process for every seat, at every level of seniority, and we say so openly.
Partner command is the second standing requirement. The books are ours, but auditors, banks, the fund administrator, valuers, law firms and system vendors are commanded by this team — briefed, held to a standard, integrated — never deferred to. We hire for judgment and accountability.
HOW WE WILL ASSESS
Everyone who applies hears from us within two working days. It carries two links: a fixed set of six questions answered by AI interview — about forty minutes, and the first work sample; we review it before the CV — and the Vantrock AI Proficiency Test, which every hire takes at every level. From there:
1. The Secretarial conversation. Where you trained, the entities you handled, the filing that went wrong and what you learned. With the Head — Legal & Compliance.
2. A 90-minute supervised practical. A two-page group structure with a dozen entities and a set of events for the quarter — a director change, a charge, a new LLP, an annual cycle — from which you produce the secretarial calendar, the filings list with forms and dates, and a draft board resolution. Reviewed with the Head.
3. Reference. One former reporting manager or training principal, contacted directly.
Once we have received your application, your AI interview and your test, we will reach out with next steps. Your application is confidential: it is seen only by the Founder's Office and the hiring lead, and nothing is shared with your current employer or referenced without your consent.
TO APPLY
Write to careers@vantrock.com with the subject line "Company Secretary — [your name]", and attach:
– Your CV. This is mandatory — a LinkedIn profile alone is not an application; we will read your LinkedIn as well.
– Your Filing Sheet — one row per entity you have handled: entity type, filings prepared, registers maintained, period, your role. Training-period work counts.
– Your notice period and what you would need to see to move.
– One short paragraph: the filing that most often goes late in a group with many SPVs, and how you would build
