Roles and Responsibilities:
Provide 24x7 operational support for all Staples Cloud Infrastructure and participate in the on-call rotation.
Implement infrastructure availability and performance monitoring to ensure platform uptime and performance.
Automate OS/security patching, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) cluster upgrades, etc.
Drive production readiness Permit to Operate (PTO) process for applications migrating into the public cloud.
Develop, maintain, and promote a culture of continuous enhancement for a robust knowledge management system for the Cloud Services team and its partners.
Collaborate with Cloud Engineers/Architects, SRE, Development, Release Engineering, and Database teams to support implementations into the cloud infrastructure.
Support aspects of the cloud migration initiative, including its impact on infrastructure, networks, and security.
Research, analyze, and recommend solutions for challenging cloud operational issues.
Generate governance and compliance-related reports for management as needed.
Work with Staples Incident/Problem Management and cloud providers to drive root cause analysis (RCA) for high-priority issues in a timely manner.
Skills Required:
Must have strong experience as a Linux Administrator supporting large-scale cloud infrastructure environments.
Must have hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and ARM Templates.
Must be proficient in automation tools including Ansible, Chef, Jenkins, and Terraform.
Must have experience working with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Must have strong Linux system-level knowledge including shell scripting, systemd, and OS-level troubleshooting.
Must have working knowledge of API integrations using REST/JSON and WebSockets.
Must have scripting experience using Bash and basic knowledge of Perl.
Should have basic exposure to Kubernetes administration and cloud-native environments.
Should possess AZ-104: Azure Administrator certification or equivalent practical experience.
Education: Relevant degree in Computer Science or related field.
