About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
We are looking for a Mid- to Senior Power System Engineer with strong experience in utility power system studies, network analysis, renewable integration, power quality assessment, dynamic simulation, and electromagnetic transient studies. The role is suited for engineers who can work across transmission, distribution, renewable, and industrial power systems, supporting technical studies that enable reliable, compliant, and future-ready network development. The candidate should be comfortable working with complex power system models, interpreting study outcomes, preparing technical reports, and engaging with internal and external stakeholders to support planning, connection, compliance, and operational decision-making.
Responsibilities:
Develop, review, and validate power system models for transmission, distribution, renewable, and industrial networks.
Perform power system studies covering steady-state, short-circuit, contingency, dynamic, power quality, and electromagnetic transient requirements.
Support grid connection, network planning, and compliance studies for generation, demand, storage, and large industrial connections.
Carry out dynamic performance assessments involving generator response, inverter-based resources, control interactions, frequency response, and voltage stability.
Undertake power quality assessments including harmonics, flicker, voltage unbalance, resonance, and disturbance-related studies.
Perform electromagnetic transient studies for switching events, energization, fault recovery, insulation coordination, control interaction, and fast transient behavior.
Interpret study results and translate technical findings into clear recommendations for customers, utilities, and project stakeholders.
Prepare high-quality technical reports, study notes, model review comments, and presentation material.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, original equipment manufacturers, developers, and utility stakeholders.
Support technical assurance, peer review, quality checks, and continuous improvement of study methodologies and templates.
Demonstrated experience in harmonic analysis, resonance assessment, harmonic compliance studies, and mitigation techniques for transmission, distribution, renewable, and industrial power systems.
Strong experience developing, validating, and applying dynamic models for inverter-based resources (IBRs), including solar PV, wind farms, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and associated control systems.
Proven ability to independently execute and deliver complex power system studies, manage multiple technical workstreams, engage directly with clients and utilities, and provide technically robust recommendations with minimal supervision.
