Role Description This is a full-time, on-site PVD Coating Technician role based in the Pune Division. The technician will prepare components for coating, including cleaning, masking, and loading parts into PVD coating chambers. Daily tasks include setting up and operating PVD equipment, entering and monitoring process parameters, performing basic maintenance, and documenting production data. The role involves inspecting coated parts for quality, troubleshooting minor equipment issues, and coordinating with supervisors and quality teams to meet production schedules. The technician is expected to follow all safety guidelines, maintain a clean work area, and support continuous improvement in coating processes.
Qualifications
Practical experience or strong interest in operating industrial machinery, preferably in coating, surface treatment, or related manufacturing processes.
Ability to read and follow work instructions, process sheets, and basic technical documentation.
Attention to detail for visual inspection, measurement, and quality checks on coated parts.
Basic understanding of safety practices in a production or workshop environment, including handling chemicals and high-vacuum equipment.
Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to identify and report equipment or process issues promptly.
Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and quality personnel.
Willingness to work in shifts if required and to stand for extended periods in a factory setting.
High school diploma or vocational training in mechanical, electrical, or industrial disciplines; a diploma or certification in manufacturing or surface engineering is an advantage.
Previous experience in PVD coating, vacuum systems, or tool/coating industries is beneficial but not mandatory.
