About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Data Analyst / Data Engineer Intern to join our Product & Technology team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on building and maintaining robust data pipelines, developing internal dashboards, and supporting data-driven workflows that directly impact our operational and strategic decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will be passionate about data, eager to learn, and capable of translating complex data requirements into actionable insights and scalable solutions.
As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience working with a variety of modern data tools, databases, and frameworks, including AWS cloud services, Frappe/ERPNext applications, APIs, and scripting languages. Your contributions will help optimize data management practices, improve dashboard usability, and automate workflows to enhance overall efficiency. Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, with a focus on data management and analysis. Proficiency in SQL and Python is essential, along with a good understanding of relational databases and data modeling. Experience working with ETL/ELT pipelines, scheduled data jobs, and API integrations will be highly valued. Candidates should demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently across multiple projects. Familiarity with tools such as Postman, Git, and basic frontend technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) will be advantageous. A proactive attitude, quick learning ability, and a passion for leveraging data to solve real-world problems are key qualities we seek.
Responsibilities
Data Engineering & Data Pipelines:
Build, maintain, and troubleshoot data pipelines across various sources such as AWS RDS, Amazon Redshift, application databases, APIs, Google Sheets, and internal systems.
Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, reconciliation, and reporting tasks.
Develop Python scripts to automate ETL/ELT workflows, perform data transformation, validation, and ensure data quality.
Monitor scheduled cron jobs and recurring data workflows for smooth operation and troubleshoot failures.
Identify and resolve data quality issues, including missing records, duplicates, and schema inconsistencies.
Create validation and reconciliation checks between source systems and dashboards to ensure data accuracy.
Work with APIs and JSON payloads to facilitate seamless data movement between applications.
Document data sources, schemas, transformations, and dependencies for transparency and future reference.
Dashboarding & Frappe-Based Applications
Design, develop, and maintain operational dashboards, reports, DocTypes, forms, and workflows within the Frappe Framework / ERPNext environment.
Integrate Frappe applications with databases, APIs, and internal data pipelines to ensure real-time data availability.
Create dashboards tailored for Product, Technology, Field, and Business teams to support decision-making.
Translate complex business requirements into structured datasets, KPIs, filters, and visual components.
Debug data discrepancies between backend databases and dashboard outputs to maintain data integrity.
Enhance dashboard performance, usability, and data freshness to meet organizational needs.
Support basic frontend customization using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Frappe scripting when necessary.
Additional Responsibilities
Utilize tools like Postman for API testing, debugging, and performance checks.
Work with REST APIs, JSON payloads, authentication protocols, and webhook integrations.
Conduct product and data quality assurance prior to releases.
Support automation of workflows across internal systems to improve operational efficiency.
Leverage AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or similar LLMs to assist in coding, data analysis, documentation, and workflow automation.
Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, data dictionaries, standard operating procedures, and implementation notes.
Quickly adapt to new systems and collaborate across multiple technology platforms to meet project requirements.
