About The Role
We are seeking a motivated and technically proficient Data Analyst / Data Engineer Intern to join our Product & Technology team. This role involves building and maintaining robust data pipelines, developing internal dashboards, and supporting data-driven workflows that facilitate operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in data management, SQL, Python, and experience working with databases and APIs. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with production data pipelines, cloud-based databases, Frappe Framework applications, and workflow automation tools. The role is designed for individuals eager to understand how data fuels product development and operational decision-making within a fast-paced agritech environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, particularly in data management and analysis. Proficiency in SQL and Python is essential, along with familiarity with relational databases such as AWS RDS, Amazon Redshift, PostgreSQL, or MySQL. Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines, scheduled data workflows, and API integrations is highly valued. Candidates should have strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently across multiple projects. Basic knowledge of web technologies like JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and version control systems such as Git/GitHub will be advantageous. A proactive attitude towards learning new technologies and a keen interest in data-driven product development are important attributes for success in this role.
Responsibilities
Data Engineering & Data Pipelines:
Manage and optimize data flows across various sources including AWS RDS, Amazon Redshift, application databases, APIs, Google Sheets, and internal systems.
Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure seamless data transfer and integrity.
Write complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, reconciliation, and reporting purposes.
Create Python scripts to automate ETL/ELT workflows, perform data transformations, validations, and ensure data quality.
Monitor scheduled data workflows via cron jobs and troubleshoot failures or inconsistencies.
Implement data validation and reconciliation checks to maintain accuracy between source systems and dashboards.
Work with API integrations, handling JSON payloads and authentication mechanisms to facilitate data movement between applications.
Document data sources, schemas, transformations, and dependencies for team reference and compliance.
Dashboarding & Frappe-Based Applications
Design and maintain operational dashboards, reports, and internal tools using Frappe Framework / ERPNext.
Connect Frappe applications to databases, APIs, and data pipelines to ensure real-time data availability.
Translate business requirements into structured datasets, KPIs, filters, and visual components for dashboards.
Debug and resolve data discrepancies between backend databases and dashboard outputs.
Enhance dashboard usability, performance, and data freshness to support business decision-making.
Support basic frontend customization using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Frappe scripting where necessary.
Additional Responsibilities
Utilize tools such as Postman for API testing, debugging, and validation.
Work with REST APIs, JSON payloads, and webhook integrations to automate data flows and processes.
Conduct product and data quality assurance prior to releases.
Assist in workflow automation across various internal systems to improve efficiency.
Leverage AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, or similar LLMs for coding, documentation, debugging, and workflow enhancement.
Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, data dictionaries, SOPs, and implementation notes.
Quickly adapt to new systems and collaborate across multiple technology platforms to deliver results.
