Its flagship product, Wisper, is a discreet and comfortable earpiece that enables Push To Talk (PTT) over Cellular communications. Wisper connects via Bluetooth to a smartphone, works with most PTT applications, and offers several days of battery life before needing a recharge. The device is designed to improve communication for field teams who traditionally rely on two-way radios. Cobalt’s solutions serve sectors such as hospitality, food service, logistics, industry, security, construction, and events.
Role Description The Owner at Cobalt Watch will oversee overall business strategy, operations, and growth for the Hyderabad location in a full-time, on-site capacity. This role includes defining product and market vision, setting financial and operational goals, and ensuring alignment between hardware development, marketing, and customer success. The Owner will manage key partnerships, represent the brand in external engagements, and make decisions on investments, hiring, and resource allocation. Daily responsibilities involve reviewing performance metrics, guiding cross-functional teams, assessing risks and opportunities, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and suppliers. The position requires hands-on leadership, clear communication, and the ability to drive sustainable business expansion while safeguarding product quality and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in founding, owning, or leading a business, ideally in hardware or technology-driven environments.
Strong skills in strategic planning, financial management, and operational oversight.
Background in product development or engineering management, with familiarity in communication or wearable devices considered an advantage.
Ability to lead diverse teams, build inclusive work environments, and make data-informed decisions under time constraints.
Effective stakeholder management and negotiation skills for working with partners, clients, and vendors.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional language proficiency is a plus.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Willingness to work on-site in Hyderabad and collaborate with international teams across time zones.
