Cyber Security Analyst

Key Responsibilities
Monitor security alerts, logs, and events using SIEM and security monitoring tools.
Investigate and respond to security incidents and potential breaches.
Perform threat analysis and identify indicators of compromise (IOCs).
Conduct vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation activities.
Analyze network traffic, endpoint activity, and authentication events.
Maintain and improve security monitoring and alerting rules.
Perform basic malware and phishing analysis.
Support incident response, containment, eradication, and recovery activities.
Prepare security incident reports and maintain appropriate documentation.
Assist with security audits, compliance requirements, and risk assessments.
Work with IT and DevOps teams to implement security controls.
Stay updated on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques.
Required Skills
Strong understanding of networking and cybersecurity fundamentals.
Experience with SIEM platforms such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, IBM QRadar, or Elastic Security.
Knowledge of endpoint security/EDR tools.
Understanding of Windows and Linux security.
Knowledge of vulnerability scanning tools such as Nessus, Qualys, or OpenVAS.
Familiarity with incident response and threat detection.
Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, VPNs, firewalls, and proxies.
Knowledge of common security threats such as phishing, ransomware, malware, and credential attacks.
Basic scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
Familiarity with security frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, or ISO 27001.
