About the role

This is a remote contract role for a Junior 2D Game Artist. In this role, you will create 2D game assets such as characters, environments, UI elements, and icons that align with the project’s visual style. You will collaborate closely with game designers and developers to refine art concepts, iterate on feedback, and ensure assets are optimized for game engines and mobile platforms. Daily tasks include preparing production-ready art, exporting and organizing files, and supporting the team with visual polish and small animations or effects as needed. You will participate in regular reviews, communicate proactively about progress, and help maintain visual consistency across the game.
Qualifications
Strong 2D art skills with the ability to create clear, stylized, and readable assets for games.
Familiarity with Blender or similar tools for basic 3D support, asset visualization, or integration workflows.
Understanding of Mobile Games constraints, including performance, resolution, and UX considerations.
Foundational knowledge of Game Development processes and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Basic Game Design awareness to align visual assets with gameplay, player feedback, and accessibility.
Proficiency with industry-standard 2D tools (e.g., Photoshop, Krita, Clip Studio Paint, or equivalent).
Ability to follow art direction, iterate on feedback, and work within established style guides.
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote, distributed environment.
A portfolio demonstrating relevant 2D game art work; prior game project experience is a plus.
