Role Description The Software Engineer - Backend (Contract) will design, develop, and maintain server-side applications and services that power Effulgent Inc’s technology solutions. This remote role involves implementing scalable APIs, optimizing database interactions, and ensuring system reliability, security, and performance. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications, review and refactor code, and integrate third-party services as needed. Daily responsibilities also include writing unit and integration tests, debugging production issues, participating in code reviews, and contributing to documentation and best practices for backend systems.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Computer Science and Software Development principles.
Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, including server-side frameworks and API design.
Proficiency in Programming with at least one modern backend language (e.g., Java, C#, Python, Node.js).
Applied knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and design patterns.
Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, query optimization, and data modeling.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization or orchestration tools is beneficial.
Understanding of security best practices for backend services, including authentication, authorization, and data protection.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and collaborate via digital communication tools.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
