Revenue Cycle Consultant

Role Description The Revenue Cycle Consultant is a full-time remote role responsible for advising healthcare organizations on optimizing their end-to-end revenue cycle processes. Day-to-day tasks include assessing current billing, coding, and collections workflows, identifying operational gaps, and recommending process improvements to enhance financial performance and compliance. The consultant will analyze revenue data, prepare reports, and present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and structured manner. This role also involves collaborating with client teams to implement best practices, monitor performance metrics, and provide ongoing guidance on revenue cycle management strategies. The consultant is expected to manage multiple client engagements, maintain documentation, and contribute to internal knowledge sharing and service refinement.
Qualifications
Strong expertise in Revenue Cycle Management, including billing, coding, claims, denials, and collections processes.
Advanced Analytical Skills with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and develop data-driven recommendations.
Demonstrated Consulting experience, including stakeholder management, presentation skills, and solution-oriented advisory work.
Background in Healthcare Consulting, with familiarity with healthcare regulations, payer requirements, and compliance standards.
Experience in Process Improvement, including mapping workflows, implementing best practices, and measuring outcomes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts in accessible terms.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage remote work and multiple concurrent projects.
Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, finance, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CRCR, CPC) are a plus.
Proficiency with common healthcare revenue cycle software and reporting tools; advanced Excel skills are beneficial.
Prior experience working with U.S. healthcare providers, health systems, or medical practices is preferred.
