Department Head- Worsted Spinning

Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Department Head – Worsted Spinning, located in Madhya Pradesh, India. The role is responsible for leading and managing the worsted spinning department, including planning production schedules, optimizing machine utilization, and ensuring adherence to quality standards and safety norms. The Department Head will oversee day-to-day operations, drive process improvements, manage maintenance coordination, and implement cost and waste reduction initiatives. The role includes supervising and developing team members, monitoring performance metrics, and collaborating with quality, maintenance, and planning functions to achieve production targets. The Department Head will also support audits, compliance requirements, and continuous improvement projects aligned with the company’s operational excellence and sustainability goals.
Key Requirements
Strong technical expertise in worsted spinning, yarn manufacturing processes, and fibre properties, preferably in a large-scale textile operation.
Proven experience in production planning, capacity utilization, and process optimization in spinning or related textile manufacturing environments.
Demonstrated leadership skills in managing shop-floor teams, workforce planning, performance management, and fostering a safe, inclusive work culture.
Experience with quality management systems, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies (such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen).
Ability to monitor operational KPIs, analyze data, and implement corrective and preventive actions to meet productivity and quality goals.
Knowledge of maintenance coordination, equipment reliability, and basic understanding of textile machinery and utilities relevant to spinning.
Effective communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related
