User Experience Developer

PortfolioFuture is an investment research and analytics platform focused on ETFs, mutual funds, fund alternatives, and portfolio decisions. Our research combines quantitative analysis with investment judgment to evaluate how investment products behave, what drives their results, and whether comparable alternatives deserve further consideration.
The Role
The UX Designer helps shape how users discover, understand, and act on PortfolioFuture’s research.
The role focuses on information architecture, interaction design, research communication, and first-time product comprehension.
A major part of the work is translating complex investment research into product experiences that users can understand quickly without losing the meaning behind the analysis.
The designer will work closely with research and product development to determine what evidence users need, when they need it, and how it should appear within the decision process.
Responsibilities
- Design and improve the user journey across investment discovery, fund alternatives, replication analysis, and portfolio decisions.
- Improve first-time comprehension so users can quickly understand what PortfolioFuture does and why its methodology differs from conventional fund comparison tools.
- Develop clear information architecture for flows such as Discover → Alternatives → Evidence → Decision.
- Translate quantitative research into intuitive visual and interactive experiences without removing methodological meaning.
- Determine how research evidence should appear beside recommendations and analytical results.
- Improve visual hierarchy across fund names, tickers, scores, evidence, explanations, and decision-relevant information.
- Design interfaces that help users understand why one fund deserves consideration over another.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, interaction flows, and high-fidelity product designs.
- Conduct lightweight usability testing and identify where users misunderstand the product or fall back to familiar financial frameworks.
- Distinguish genuine product gaps from communication or presentation problems.
- Contribute to reusable design patterns and a consistent product design system.
- Work with research and engineering to ensure the product remains rigorous while becoming easier to understand and use.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in UX design, product design, interaction design, information architecture, HCI, or a related discipline.
- Ability to simplify complex analytical information without distorting its meaning.
- Strong understanding of user flows, hierarchy, navigation, and decision-oriented interfaces.
- Ability to reason from user behavior rather than only visual preference.
- Experience with Figma or comparable product-design and prototyping tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to explain the reasoning behind design decisions.
- Interest in financial products, investing, fintech, data products, or analytical software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
