Software Engineer – Scala

About the Role
We are looking for a talented Software Engineer with strong Scala experience to join a technology team focused on building and supporting modern, scalable applications.
This role is ideal for an engineer with a strong software development foundation who enjoys solving complex technical problems, working with modern backend technologies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams in an international environment.
The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with Scala, along with a solid understanding of backend development, APIs, integrations, and scalable software architecture.
What You’ll Do
Design, develop, test, and maintain reliable and scalable software solutions.
Build and enhance backend applications and services using Scala.
Develop and maintain APIs and integrations between applications and services.
Contribute to the design and development of scalable and maintainable systems.
Troubleshoot technical issues and identify opportunities to improve application performance and reliability.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to software engineering best practices.
Collaborate with engineers, product teams, and other stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
Work within modern development environments using version control, automated testing, and CI/CD practices.
Support continuous improvement of existing applications, architecture, and development processes.
What We’re Looking For
Professional software development experience with strong hands-on Scala experience.
Solid background in backend and/or full-stack development.
Experience developing and consuming REST APIs and web services.
Understanding of modern software architecture, distributed systems, and/or microservices.
Experience working with databases and data-driven applications.
Familiarity with automated testing, version control, and CI/CD practices.
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively within distributed and cross-functional teams.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Nice to Have
Experience with one or more of the following would be a plus:
Java or Go
AWS or other cloud platforms
Kafka
Spark
Microservices and distributed architectures
High-volume or highly scalable applications
