Cashier

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Cashier role based in Tamil Nadu, India. The Cashier will handle customer billing, process cash, card, and digital payments, issue receipts, and maintain accurate transaction records. Responsibilities include balancing the cash drawer at the end of the shift, reconciling daily sales, and reporting any discrepancies in a timely manner. The role also involves answering customer queries related to pricing, bills, and payment methods, and coordinating with the sales and accounts teams to ensure smooth store operations. The Cashier is expected to follow company policies, comply with relevant financial and security procedures, and maintain a courteous, professional demeanor with all customers.
Qualifications
Strong numerical ability and basic accounting knowledge to manage cash handling, billing, and daily reconciliation.
Customer service skills, including clear communication, patience, and a professional attitude in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems, billing software, and basic computer applications such as MS Excel.
Attention to detail and accuracy in recording transactions, verifying amounts, and maintaining documentation.
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform routine cashier duties efficiently throughout the shift.
Prior experience as a cashier, retail associate, or in a similar customer-facing role is preferred.
Minimum educational qualification: High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in finance or commerce is an advantage.
Integrity, reliability, and readiness to follow company policies, safety guidelines, and standard operating procedures.
