Role Description
This is a remote, contract Filmmaker role supporting the development and production of diverse, independent projects. The Filmmaker will collaborate with writers, producers, and other creatives to plan and direct film and video content aligned with the company’s mission. Day-to-day tasks may include script breakdowns, shot planning, coordinating virtual or on-location shoots, overseeing camera and lighting setups, and directing talent and crew. The role also involves supervising post-production workflows, reviewing edits, and ensuring that final deliverables meet creative and technical standards. The Filmmaker will be expected to communicate regularly with project stakeholders, manage timelines, and adapt to varying project scopes and budgets.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess skills in Film Direction to guide creative vision, work with talent, and shape the narrative onscreen.
Candidates should possess skills in Film Production and Video Production to manage logistics, coordinate crews, and ensure smooth execution of shoots.
Candidates should possess skills in Post-Production to oversee editing, sound, and visual finishing for high-quality deliverables.
Candidates should possess skills in Scriptwriting to develop, refine, and interpret scripts that support strong stories and underrepresented voices.
Experience working on independent or low-to-mid budget productions and collaborating with diverse creative teams.
Proficiency with common production and post-production tools (e.g., digital cameras, editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar).
Strong communication, time management, and remote collaboration skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects.
A portfolio or reel demonstrating prior film or video work; formal education in film or media is beneficial but not required.
