Role Description This is a full-time Senior Urban Planner role based in Telangana, India, with a hybrid work model that allows a combination of on-site and work-from-home arrangements. The Senior Urban Planner will lead the development of urban and regional plans, including land use strategies, environmental impact considerations, and long-term growth frameworks. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting spatial and demographic analysis, preparing planning reports and presentations, coordinating with stakeholders and government agencies, and guiding junior team members. The role involves translating data and geospatial insights into practical planning recommendations, reviewing regulatory and policy implications, and contributing to project proposals and client meetings. The Senior Urban Planner will work closely with technical and design teams to ensure that planning solutions are aligned with project goals and applicable standards.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Urban Planning and Planning, with the ability to lead complex planning projects and frameworks.
Experience in Regional Planning, focusing on growth management, infrastructure planning, and inter-jurisdictional coordination.
Knowledge of Environmental Planning, including sustainability principles, environmental impact assessment, and climate resilience considerations.
Proficiency in Land Use Planning, zoning analysis, and the development of land use policies and development control guidelines.
Advanced skills in GIS and other geospatial tools, data analysis, and mapping for planning purposes.
Ability to communicate clearly through written reports, presentations, and stakeholder consultations.
Demonstrated experience mentoring or supervising junior planners or analysts.
Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Regional Planning, Environmental Planning, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Familiarity with Indian planning regulations, urban development policies, and local governance systems, particularly in Telangana, is highly beneficial.
Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects, and comfort working in a hybrid environment with cross-functional teams.
