We're looking for driven, analytical, and research-minded students to join our Equity Research Internship and gain hands-on experience in the research work behind real investment recommendations.
About the Internship
As an Equity Research Intern, you'll do realistic equity research work inspired by real investment firms: analyzing public companies, building valuation models, writing investment theses, and presenting buy/sell recommendations backed by data.
You'll learn how research analysts turn financial statements, industry trends, and management commentary into clear, defensible investment calls.
Responsibilities
* Analyze income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for covered mock companies.
* Build three-statement financial models and forecast revenue, earnings, and cash flows.
* Perform ratio analysis (profitability, leverage, efficiency, growth) and benchmark against peers.
* Build valuation models: DCF, comparable company analysis, and precedent transactions.
* Estimate cost of equity and WACC for mock coverage companies.
* Write investment theses summarizing the case for or against a stock.
* Track mock company earnings releases and update models with actuals vs. estimates.
* Analyze industry trends, competitive positioning, and moat sources.
* Build peer-comparison tables and relative valuation matrices.
* Prepare earnings-preview and earnings-recap notes in analyst style.
* Monitor management guidance and assess credibility of forward statements.
* Model scenario outcomes (bull, base, bear) and derive price targets.
* Analyze corporate events (M&A, buybacks, dividend changes) and their share-price impact.
* Research sector-specific KPIs (same-store sales, subscribers, production volumes) for mock coverage.
* Build financial databases and maintain coverage lists for mock companies.
* Analyze valuation multiples (P/E, EV/EBITDA, P/S) across peers and cycles.
* Write initiation-of-coverage style reports for new mock companies.
* Assess ESG factors and governance risks in investment recommendations.
* Present buy/hold/sell recommendations with supporting evidence to stakeholders.
* Use AI tools to accelerate data gathering, transcript summarization, and drafting.
Requirements
* Current student or recent graduate in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
* Strong interest in investing, capital markets, and equity analysis.
* Analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with financial data.
* Strong spreadsheet skills (Excel or Google Sheets); formulas a must, modeling experience a plus.
* Good written and verbal communication skills, including presenting numbers clearly.
* Ability to build a clear, logical investment argument from raw data.
* Interest in how markets value companies and what moves stock prices.
* Familiarity with financial statements (income, balance sheet, cash flow) is a plus but not required.
* Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar platforms is a plus.
* Previous professional finance experience is not required.
What You'll Gain
* Hands-on experience doing equity research analysis like real sell-side analysts.
* Practical experience building three-statement and DCF valuation models.
* Experience writing investment theses and earnings notes.
* Understanding of valuation multiples and relative valuation techniques.
* Experience presenting buy/hold/sell recommendations with price targets.
* Understanding of sector analysis and competitive benchmarking.
* Practical exposure to earnings analysis and management guidance.
* Experience using AI and modern research tools.
* Portfolio-ready equity research projects.
* Personalized AI feedback on your work.
* Professional certificate upon successful completion.
* Mentorship and weekly learning sessions.
* Opportunity to strengthen your portfolio, resume, and interview readiness.
