Role Description The Director role at Power East Africa Engineering Sh. Co. is a full-time, on-site position based in Bengaluru. The Director will oversee overall business operations, strategy, and performance, ensuring alignment with the company’s goals in electromechanical solutions, project delivery, and product manufacturing. Day-to-day responsibilities include providing strategic leadership to project and engineering teams, managing key client relationships, and monitoring the execution of substation, industrial, and solar projects to meet quality, budget, and timeline requirements. The Director will also be responsible for driving business development initiatives, improving operational efficiency, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement. Additionally, the role involves mentoring senior staff, coordinating with cross-functional departments, and reporting on financial and operational metrics to the executive leadership.
Qualifications
Proven leadership and management skills, including experience guiding cross-functional teams and overseeing complex engineering or industrial projects.
Strong strategic planning, business development, and decision-making capabilities relevant to electromechanical, energy, or infrastructure sectors.
Solid understanding of project management practices, budgeting, resource allocation, risk management, and quality assurance.
Knowledge of electromechanical systems, substation operations, industrial installations, and preferably exposure to solar or renewable energy projects.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain client and partner relationships.
Experience implementing operational processes, safety standards, and regulatory compliance frameworks in a technical environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; a master’s degree (e.g., MBA or relevant engineering discipline) is an advantage.
Demonstrated ability to work on-site, engage closely with project and operations teams, and adapt to a dynamic, growth-focused organization.
