Web Developer

Job Overview
Our client is looking for a skilled WordPress Web Designer to handle end-to-end website design, development, and optimization. This role involves building and customizing websites, implementing design assets, ensuring mobile responsiveness, and managing site performance and basic analytics tracking.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm EST (40 work hours per week)
Responsibilities
Build, configure, and maintain WordPress websites using themes, page builders (Elementor, Divi, Beaver Builder), and Gutenberg blocks.
Customize layouts and fix spacing, alignment, and responsive issues using HTML and CSS.
Implement simple interactive elements, animations, and troubleshoot plugin conflicts using JavaScript/jQuery.
Process, edit, and optimize vector files in Illustrator or Figma, exporting assets in SVG, PNG, and WebP formats for web performance.
Apply intermediate SEO practices, including meta tags, alt text optimization, and site structure.
Manage plugins, child themes, custom CSS injections, site caching, image compression, and staging environments.
Set up and monitor Google Analytics tracking, events, and performance reports.
Ensure designs align with client brand guidelines and function seamlessly across all mobile and desktop devices.
Collaborate via project management software (Monday.com) and communicate clearly with internal teams and clients.
Requirements
Strong proficiency in WordPress fundamentals, themes, page builders, and plugin management.
Solid working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript/jQuery.
Proficiency in handling vector files in Figma or Adobe Illustrator and optimizing assets for the web.
Hands-on experience with Google Analytics (event tracking, conversion reporting, and performance monitoring).
Strong visual design judgment with an ability to apply brand guidelines to templates and web layouts.
Experience with project management tools such as Monday.com.
Qualifications
Experience with alternative website builders such as Webflow, Squarespace, or Wix is a plus.
Prior experience building websites for highly regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, FinTech, medical device manufacturing) is desirable.
