About The Role
We are seeking a skilled AWS Security Analyst to join our dynamic team at Metaskil Limited. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for supporting the technical security and compliance of our organization’s cloud infrastructure and hosted services provided to clients. This position offers an excellent opportunity for professionals with a solid foundation in cloud security principles to expand their expertise and take on greater responsibilities. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify, assess, and mitigate security risks, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of our data and systems. The role is based in Camberley, Surrey, with a flexible hybrid working model that includes 2-3 days on-site and the remainder remote, fostering a healthy work-life balance.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess proven experience working within an AWS-hosted environment, with a comprehensive understanding of security best practices. Relevant certifications such as AWS Security Specialty, CISSP, or CISA are highly desirable. A strong knowledge of compliance frameworks, including ISO 27001, SOC 2, and CIS Foundations, is essential. Candidates should demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify vulnerabilities and implement effective mitigation strategies. Effective communication skills are crucial for collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders. A proactive attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously are also important qualities for success in this role.
Responsibilities
Support and maintain the security posture of AWS cloud environments, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and risk analyses to identify potential threats.
Implement and manage security controls, including identity and access management, encryption, and network security measures.
Assist in the development, maintenance, and enforcement of security policies, procedures, and compliance documentation.
Monitor security alerts and respond promptly to incidents, conducting investigations and root cause analysis.
Collaborate with development, operations, and compliance teams to embed security into the organization’s processes and projects.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging security threats, trends, and technology solutions relevant to cloud security.
Participate in audit preparations and support compliance activities related to ISO 27001, SOC 2, and other relevant standards.
Provide guidance and training to team members and stakeholders on security best practices and policies.
