Clinical Business Analyst – Patient Access

Job Description
On behalf of our Healthcare Client, Affinity Healthcare Solutions is looking for a Clinical Business Analyst. The role encompasses activities related to the development of clinical standards and the implementation of a Clinical Information System (CIS) across healthcare environments. The primary focus is supporting the creation, standardization, and implementation of order sets, documentation templates, and clinical workflows used by physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, and other regulated healthcare professionals providing bedside care, with a particular emphasis on patient access and related clinical processes.
Responsibilities
Detailed review of existing business requirements.
Collaborate with clinical experts to gather input and insights for the development and refinement of clinical standards.
Design and develop facilitation sessions to validate the existing requirements and collect net new business and information technology requirement, including gap analysis.
Create and maintain detailed process and solution documentation, including workflows, use cases, user guides, and training materials, to ensure seamless adoption of clinical standards.
Conduct comprehensive analysis of business and client requirements to support the development, operations, and deployment of the clinical standardization project; recommend and implement solutions to achieve defined objectives, monitoring their effectiveness.
Build, validate, and test clinical content in the CIS
Collaborate closely with project teams to ensure the smooth delivery and implementation of the clinical standardization project, including effective communication plans for stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
University degree in Healthcare, Business Administration, Information Technology, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
5+ years of experience as a Clinical Business Analyst, Clinical Informatics Analyst, or equivalent, supporting Patient Access (Registration and Scheduling) initiatives, including requirements gathering, workshop facilitation, use case analysis, business process analysis, detailed design, and business analysis documentation.
5+ years of experience working with acute care Health Information Systems (EHR/CIS) and healthcare operations related to Patient Access (Registration and Scheduling).
3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Clinical Informatics Analyst on Health Information System (EHR/CIS) implementation projects, with direct experience supporting the build or implementation of large-scale Patient Access (Registration and Scheduling) solutions within a Canadian acute care healthcare environment.
Ability to start work on or around the date specified in the Statement of Work (SOW).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing and implementing standardized clinical workflows, documentation templates, and order sets within EHR/CIS environments.
Experience supporting healthcare transformation, system implementation, or workflow optimization initiatives in complex acute care settings.
Experience collaborating with clinicians, operational leaders, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to support patient access processes and system adoption.
