Assistant Manager - Direct Tax / Tax Compliance – Taxation

Job Title: Tax / Direct TaxAbout the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented Tax / Direct Tax professional to join our Finance team. The role involves managing direct tax compliances, tax provisions, TDS, tax returns, assessments, notices, audits, and related statutory requirements. The candidate will work closely with Finance, auditors, tax consultants, and tax authorities to ensure timely and accurate compliance.
What You'll DoTax Compliance & Reporting
Prepare quarterly/annual tax provisions, deferred tax workings, and related disclosures.
Prepare advance tax workings and ensure timely payments.
Prepare and file income tax returns, tax audit reports, transfer pricing reports, and other applicable forms.
Prepare monthly TDS payment workings and quarterly TDS returns.
Reconcile income and TDS as per Form 26AS, AIS, and TIS with books of accounts.
Assessments & Notices
Prepare workings and submissions for scrutiny assessments, inquiries, and tax notices.
Draft and file responses with tax authorities within prescribed timelines.
Prepare and file rectification and stay of demand applications, wherever required.
Track tax demands, assessments, hearings, notices, and follow-up actions.
Maintain the tax notice and compliance tracker.
Audit & Stakeholder Management
Provide tax data, workings, and supporting documents to internal and statutory auditors.
Respond to audit and tax-related queries.
Coordinate with tax consultants, auditors, Finance teams, and other stakeholders.
Ensure proper documentation and timely closure of tax-related activities.
Automation & Process Improvement
Support tax automation and technology initiatives.
Identify opportunities to improve tax compliance, reconciliation, reporting, and process efficiency.
Assist in implementing and enhancing tax tools and systems.
