Dental Assistant/Receptionist |Lumino Whangarei | Casual

We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and adaptable Casual Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our team at Lumino Whangarei.
This varied role combines front-of-house reception duties with chairside dental assisting support with some front-of-house reception, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment. As a casual team member, you'll provide support where needed, helping to ensure our patients receive an outstanding experience from the moment they walk through our doors.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting clinicians during a variety of dental procedures
Preparing treatment rooms and assisting with infection control procedures
Sterilising instruments and maintaining a clean clinical environment
Updating patient records and completing administrative tasks accurately
Working collaboratively with the wider team to ensure the smooth operation of the practice
Greeting and welcoming patients in a warm and professional manner
Managing appointments, phone calls, emails, and patient enquiries
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
Previous dental assisting experience is advantageous but not essential
Previous reception, administration, or customer service experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
A positive attitude and willingness to learn
The ability to work well independently and as part of a team
Confidence using computer systems and learning new technology
A reliable, flexible, and professional approach to work
Valid New Zealand work rights
The ability to commute easily to Whangarei or be based locally
