We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to oversee ground-up construction, renovations, and tenant improvement projects.
This role is ideal for a construction professional with experience managing retail, big-box, grocery, restaurant, commercial, and large-scale projects. The Superintendent will oversee daily field operations, coordinate subcontractors, maintain project schedules, and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on field leader who can manage multiple trades, solve jobsite challenges, and successfully deliver projects from mobilization through closeout.
Responsibilities
Lead all daily on-site construction activities from project startup through final completion.
Manage subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and field personnel.
Coordinate project schedules, manpower, material deliveries, and site logistics.
Ensure construction activities are completed according to plans, specifications, and quality standards.
Maintain a safe jobsite and enforce company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
Conduct daily site inspections and identify quality issues or schedule concerns.
Lead subcontractor coordination meetings and communicate progress with project management teams.
Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, and project documentation.
Monitor project progress and proactively address field issues.
Coordinate inspections, punch lists, and final project turnover.
Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, and construction documentation.
Build strong relationships with owners, subcontractors, vendors, and project teams.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience as a Construction Superintendent managing commercial projects.
Experience with retail, big-box, grocery, restaurant, hospitality, tenant improvement, or commercial construction projects.
Ground-up construction experience required.
Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, sequencing, and site logistics.
Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and trades simultaneously.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with construction software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platforms preferred.
