Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Business Data Analyst at Taxcart. The Business Data Analyst will work with large datasets to generate insights on product usage, tax calculation performance, and customer behavior, supporting data-driven decisions across the organization. Day-to-day tasks include collecting and cleaning data, building dashboards and reports, conducting statistical analyses, and supporting data modeling efforts for forecasting and optimization. The role collaborates closely with product, engineering, finance, and operations teams to translate business questions into measurable metrics and actionable recommendations. The Business Data Analyst is also expected to document methodologies, ensure data quality, and contribute to continuous improvement of analytics processes and tools.
Qualifications
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify trends, patterns, and opportunities.
Hands-on experience in data analytics, including working with large datasets, building reports, and creating dashboards.
Solid foundation in statistics for hypothesis testing, forecasting, and experimental analysis.
Proficiency in data modeling, including designing data structures and models to support reporting and business intelligence.
Effective communication skills to present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience with analytical tools and languages (e.g., SQL, Python or R, BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker).
Familiarity with finance, tax, or SaaS business models is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple priorities, and maintain high attention to detail.
