Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Business Intelligence Specialist. The person in this role will design, build, and maintain BI solutions that turn complex tax and transaction data into clear, actionable insights for internal teams and customers. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing dashboards and reports, performing data analysis, collaborating with engineering and product teams to define data requirements, and ensuring data accuracy and consistency. The Business Intelligence Specialist will optimize data pipelines, support decision-making with ad hoc analyses, and contribute to the continuous improvement of Taxcart’s data infrastructure and analytics capabilities.
Qualifications
Strong analytical skills and experience in data analytics to interpret complex datasets and generate actionable insights.
Proficiency with data warehousing concepts and tools, including the design and maintenance of scalable data repositories.
Hands-on experience with Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes and data modeling to support reporting and BI solutions.
Knowledge of SQL and at least one BI or data visualization tool (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar).
Understanding of cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) and modern data stack practices is beneficial.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple priorities, and communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience working with financial, tax, or e-commerce transaction data is a plus.
