Lead Business Analyst

Role Description The Lead Business Analyst is a full-time, remote role responsible for driving the analysis and design of Taxcart’s business processes and product features. This role involves gathering and documenting business requirements, translating them into clear specifications for product and engineering teams, and validating that delivered solutions meet business and regulatory needs. The Lead Business Analyst will collaborate closely with stakeholders across product, engineering, operations, and customer-facing teams to refine workflows and optimize tax automation capabilities. Day-to-day activities include conducting detailed analysis of existing processes, identifying improvement opportunities, supporting backlog prioritization, and ensuring alignment between business objectives and technical implementation. The role also includes mentoring other analysts, contributing to best practices, and supporting change management for new features and enhancements.
Qualifications
Strong Analytical Skills to interpret complex data, identify patterns, and support decision-making.
Proficiency in Business Analysis and Business Requirements gathering, including creating user stories, use cases, and functional specifications.
Effective Communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and presenting findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience in Business Process mapping, optimization, and documentation to improve operational efficiency and product workflows.
Experience leading analysis efforts for SaaS or fintech products; tax, accounting, or compliance domain knowledge is an advantage.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
Proficiency with BA tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, BPMN tools, data analysis or reporting tools).
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
Demonstrated experience mentoring or leading other analysts and contributing to standards or frameworks for analysis.
